Who We Are
The Centre for Development and Diplomacy Nepal (CDDN) is an independent policy think tank dedicated to advancing evidence-based development and effective diplomacy. CDDN generates knowledge, strengthens institutions, and advances development and diplomatic engagement through nonpartisan research and strategic advisory.
CDDN curates dialogues and serves as a knowledge hub for government institutions, non-government actors, academia, multilateral and bilateral development partners, and the private sector. The Centre helps stakeholders address complex development challenges, drives investment, and contributes meaningfully to the institutionalisation of key sectors in an era of global transformation.
Our independence is the foundation of our credibility. We do not advocate for any party or interest; we follow the evidence. That posture allows us to convene actors who might not otherwise share a table, and to offer advice that governments, partners, and the private sector can trust.
Mission
To provide evidence-informed decision-making that strengthens diplomatic engagement and fosters sustainable development in Nepal and beyond. CDDN supports principled diplomacy and evidence-informed policymaking through interdisciplinary research, strategic advisory, and the convening of multi-stakeholder platforms that respond to evolving national, regional, and global challenges.

Vision for 2030 and Beyond
Looking toward 2030 and beyond, CDDN aspires to contribute meaningfully to resilient development pathways, effective diplomacy, and strengthened institutions — ensuring that policy decisions are grounded in evidence and responsive to evolving development realities. With the institutional capacity to design and manage large-scale research studies, strategic assessments, and development projects at national and international levels, the Centre seeks to position itself as a trusted policy institution contributing to national, regional, and global development and diplomatic discourse.
