Policy Research & Analysis

We conduct interdisciplinary research on development and diplomacy issues, producing policy briefs, working papers, and reports that inform decision-makers and the public on the most consequential issues of the day. Our analytical work includes:

Our Objectives

The objectives of the Centre for  Development and Diplomacy Nepal (CDDN)  are to:

  1. Generate high-quality, policy-relevant research and analysis on development, diplomacy, and climate governance to inform decision-making at national, regional, and global levels.
  2. Support evidence-informed policymaking and strategic planning across key development sectors, including health, energy, transportation, finance, trade, and climate action.
  3. Strengthen diplomatic engagement and institutional partnerships among governments, international organisations, development partners, and the private sector.
  4. Facilitate responsible foreign and domestic investment through policy advice, advocacy, and investment facilitation aligned with national development priorities.
  5. Advance climate change action — including carbon market solutions, climate finance, and nature-based solutions — to support sustainable and resilient development.
  6. Provide advisory and technical support to governments, multilateral and bilateral agencies, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders.
  7. Convene inclusive policy dialogues and platforms that foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and consensus-building across sectors.
  8. Strengthen institutional and human capacity through training, mentorship, and knowledge- sharing for policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and emerging professionals.
